About Danica
With a family background stemming back over 50 years in pool construction, Danica has grown up in the industry and been involved in all facets of design, construction and administration. Danica’s great love and passion is helping clients design their dream outdoor spaces. Her creativity started early, where during school holidays “working” in another family business of theming, one of her early assignments was “colouring in” in a theme park design.
This theme park still stands in Danica’s original colours –“Snoopy World” in Hong Kong! Since 2007, Danica has been the lead designer for one of Brisbane's most recognised pool companies and in this time has personally sold and designed hundreds of pools. Her pool designs have featured in magazines such as Queensland Pool + Outdoor Design, Poolside and Outdoor Design and Living and has been a panelist for "Expert Advice" columns.
More recently, Danica has become highly recognised as one of Queensland’s and Australia’s most successful pool consultants and designers winning prestigious SPASA awards for Pool Sales Representative of the Year, twice Pool Designer of the Year and has designed both Pool of the Year and Spa of the Year winners. Whilst based in South East Queensland, Danica has worked with builders and clients remotely both across Australia and in Europe to design bespoke pools and outdoor spaces, presenting clients with realistic 3D concepts to visualise the layout and feel of their new outdoor entertaining areas.

Qualifications
Danica holds a QBCC license for supervision of pool construction as well as a Bachelor of Business in Accounting & Event Management and a Diploma in Project Management. She is well respected within the industry by suppliers and builders alike, and has a solid knowledge of access issues, fill conditions, and engineering concerns that may arise to assist in making your design work.

Building a bright future for women in the industry
Being the daughter of a builder who has operated in the industry for 50 years, moving into the construction landscape was a natural progression for Danica Vansleve.
Boasting a passion for design and a strong desire to help people, Danica derives immense satisfaction from her design role.
“You could say I started building supervising at age 5,” Danica jokes.
“I started in the Norfolk Pools office whilst still at school in 2002, and after I completed a Bachelor of Business in Accounting (and Event Management) in 2007, I joined Norfolk as a sales representative and pool designer.
“I have furthered my education, completing my QBCC licence for Builder Restricted to Landscaping and Swimming Pool Construction as a site supervisor in 2012, along with a Project Management Diploma and have been managing my own projects since 2016 under Norfolk Pools.
My passion is design and I see a huge gap in the industry, where pool design is not well thought. You either work with a landscape designer where plans say "pool by others" or you work directly with a pool builder and may not get the creative detail or attention needed with a free quote. EPD is established to be an independent design consultancy whereby you can have detailed plans drawn for your pool and then work with any builder of your choice, knowing the pool is the focus of your design and is backed by on-site building experience through the design phase."
2024 has proved a huge year already for Danica, taking out SPASA Queensland Awards Pool Designer of the Year for the second year in a row and was also the Designer of the Pool of the Year (built by Qld Family Pools) leading her "Pool of the Year" tally to 3 over the last 4 years.
“In 2021 we were honoured to win Master Builders Gold Coast Residential Pool of the Year in our first year in the MB Awards program,” Danica said.
For Danica, the key to her success has been the extra mile she is always willing to go to for each client, with communication and the building of strong relationships a cornerstone of her overall operation.
“I absolutely love creating beautiful spaces and I have an overwhelming wish to assist clients create their dreams and have a positive building experience,” she said.
